Child Nutrition Programs 101

In this training hosted by Food Gatherers and guest presenters, learn more about all the different federally funded nutrition programs for kids, including school meals, summer meals, child care meals, after-school meals, and WIC. These programs are federally funded but run at the state level, so there can be state and federal laws and rules that impact them.

In the summer and fall of 2021, Congress is taking up Child Nutrition Reauthorization, which is an important package of legislation that updates federally funded nutrition programs for kids. This training is designed to make sure you have the information you need to be an advocate and understand the programs being discussed.
